Moseley Church of England Primary School is a high-performing, happy school where pupils thrive. Inspectors found ambitious expectations for all pupils, including those with SEND, and strong, caring relationships that help pupils feel safe and behave very well. Reading is at the heart of the curriculum, phonics teaching is expert, and pupils achieve well across subjects. The early years provision gives children a strong start, and pupils’ personal development is exceptional, with wide opportunities for leadership, character development and community contribution. The school has recently overhauled its curriculum and is now in a more stable position after a period of turbulence, with determined leadership and effective governance. Safeguarding arrangements are effective. Most pupils with SEND are well supported and make sound progress. However, a small number of pupils miss vital learning when they receive additional support to manage their emotions and behaviour, and they do not always get the chance to catch up later. This can widen gaps in their knowledge and understanding. The school needs to ensure clear expectations that pupils catch up on any missed learning.
