The Deanery Church of England High School and Sixth Form College continues to demonstrate strong performance, maintaining its status as a good school. The school is characterized by its supportive and respectful environment, which allows pupils and students to thrive both socially and academically. Leaders and teachers have high expectations for behavior and learning, and substantial efforts have been made to enhance the curriculum, including the addition of more subjects than previously offered. Despite these strengths, there are areas that require improvement, particularly in the development and clarity of the curriculum in a few subjects. There are also occasions where teachers need to better assess pupils' understanding before moving on to new material to ensure all students achieve secure learning outcomes. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is evident in some pupils' reading fluency, but the school is actively addressing this through additional resources and support.
