Bladon House School is an independent special school for 68 pupils, all of whom have an education, health and care plan and complex SEND, including autism, speech, language and communication needs, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs. It is run by The SENAD Group Limited. This standard inspection found safeguarding standards met and all independent school standards met. The school is performing strongly overall: attendance and behaviour, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing are all strong standard, while achievement, curriculum and teaching, and post-16 provision meet the expected standard. The school's main strengths are its nurturing and highly inclusive culture, excellent behaviour, significantly improved attendance, and outstanding personal development. Pupils benefit from highly effective pastoral care, strong pupil voice, a broad enrichment programme, and a farm and woodland setting that builds confidence and emotional regulation. Leaders and the proprietor are dedicated, staff feel well supported, and parents are overwhelmingly positive. Pupils make clear progress from often complex starting points, and post-16 students are well prepared for adulthood. The main development point is the consistency of curriculum and teaching. In a small number of subjects, task design does not always match the intended learning well enough, which limits how deeply pupils deepen their knowledge over time. Leaders should ensure their high ambition for the curriculum is embedded consistently so that learning tasks routinely help pupils deepen their learning further. There are no other significant concerns.
