Assessment is not consistently precise, teaching does not always challenge pupils or develop fluency well enough, and academic progress for some pupils with SEND is less precise. Governors’ oversight of academic progress is also less developed. Leaders recognise these priorities and have increased leadership capacity, but this work is at an earlier stage.
