Some interventions are at an early stage and gaps in reading, spelling, handwriting and number facts persist for a few pupils. Teaching does not always check understanding precisely and consistently to plan next steps, the professional learning programme could be more extensive and targeted, and strategic oversight by leaders, governors and the proprietor is not always consistent.
