Newhall Park Primary is a highly inclusive, larger-than-average primary where pupils, including many who join with low starting points, achieve well. Inspectors found strong provision in achievement, curriculum and teaching, and inclusion: pupils reach expected standards in reading, writing and mathematics at rates above national averages, disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND make effective progress, and gaps are closed quickly. Behaviour is generally good, pupils feel safe and happy, and the school is calm and orderly. Early years, leadership and governance, and personal development are effective, though some areas are still developing. The main concern is attendance: overall absence and persistent absence are above national averages, including for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND. The school is taking action, but it is too soon to see sustained impact. Pupils' knowledge of fundamental British values and protected characteristics is less consistent, and early years outdoor provision needs further refinement so interactions are consistently high quality. This was a full section 5 inspection of a larger-than-average primary with above-average free school meals eligibility and no resourced SEND provision. Safeguarding standards are met.
