Eglinton Primary School provides an exceptional education for its pupils. Inspectors found the school outstanding in all key judgements, with an ambitious curriculum, expert teaching and bespoke support that helps pupils, including those with SEND and those who speak English as an additional language, learn deeply and make rapid progress. Pupils are happy, safe and enjoy learning, and their behaviour and attitudes are exemplary. Reading is a high priority, and although phonics outcomes were lower than usual last year, the school acted diligently and pupils now make rapid progress in early reading. The school's strengths include exceptionally strong language and vocabulary development, precise adaptation for pupils with SEND, positive attendance, and a rich personal development offer. Pupils show kindness and respect for difference, take on leadership roles and benefit from enrichment, clubs and career-related activities. Leaders and governors have a clear vision, and staff value collaboration through The Ambition Federation, formed in October 2023. This inspection follows a previous grade of requires improvement; under the current framework the school does not receive an overall effectiveness grade. Inspectors identified no significant weaknesses or next steps for improvement.
