Park View Academy is an independent special school for pupils with autism, social, emotional and mental health needs and emotional-based school avoidance. All 43 pupils on roll have an education, health and care plan, and the school is registered to admit 50 pupils. Inspectors found that safeguarding standards are met and that all independent school standards are met. The school is particularly strong in attendance and behaviour, inclusion, personal development and wellbeing, and post-16 provision. Leaders use carefully considered, therapeutic and curriculum-led strategies to improve attendance rapidly; behaviour is calm and respectful; inclusion is threaded through all that the school does; and pupils benefit from rich personal development, careers and transition work.
