St John’s and St Peter’s Church of England Academy continues to perform well, maintaining its status as a good school since the last inspection. The dedicated leadership has managed to create a welcoming environment where pupils feel valued and supported. Despite challenges such as high pupil mobility and a significant number of students with complex needs, the school excels in its pastoral care and has successfully implemented strategies to support pupils facing difficulties. Notably, there is a strong focus on reading, with high-quality resources and effective teaching methods that enable early learners to catch up quickly with their peers. While the school demonstrates many strengths, there are some areas for improvement, particularly regarding the implementation of recent curriculum changes that may leave gaps in students' knowledge. Additionally, pupils' understanding of fundamental British values requires further development. As this is the first ungraded inspection since June 2018, the school will need to continue addressing these areas to ensure that all students are well-prepared for life in modern Britain, while maintaining its supportive and effective learning environment.
