Tooting Primary School is a warm, welcoming school where pupils feel safe and happy. Inspectors found it performing well across the board: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision were all good, while the previous inspection grade was outstanding. The school is part of Graveney Trust and has a new headteacher and acting deputy headteachers; it also has a specially resourced SEND provision for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders. The main strengths are a broad, ambitious curriculum enriched by practical work and trips, secure early reading and phonics, effective early years provision, strong personal development and good attendance. Pupils are polite, keen to learn and understand the school values. Governance and trust support are effective, and safeguarding arrangements are effective. The two main areas for improvement are that in some subjects teachers do not check prior knowledge consistently enough, so pupils forget important knowledge, and support for pupils with SEND is not always precisely matched or actioned in mainstream classrooms, meaning some SEND pupils do not learn as well as they could.
