All Saints’ CofE Primary School is a nurturing Church of England primary where pupils’ behaviour is exceptional and the school’s values of compassion, love and community are evident day to day. Inspectors found a warm, welcoming school with high expectations, strong support for pupils with SEND, and a broad, ambitious curriculum that is well sequenced in most subjects. Reading and phonics are high priorities, attendance is excellent, and pupils benefit from a wide range of visits, clubs and responsibilities that build confidence and character. Personal development and behaviour and attitudes were judged outstanding, while quality of education, leadership and management, and early years provision were judged good. The school’s work to identify and support pupils’ needs was singled out as a particular strength, and safeguarding arrangements are effective. Leaders and governors are committed, check the quality of the school’s work carefully, and take staff workload into account. The main area for improvement is that in a small number of foundation subjects and some parts of the early years curriculum, the knowledge pupils should learn is not identified precisely enough. In these areas, teaching does not always help pupils deepen their knowledge as well as it does elsewhere. This was the school’s first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic, and it operates across two sites in Merton.
