St John’s Church of England Primary School in Abram continues to demonstrate strong performance, maintaining its status as a good school since its last inspection in 2017. The school fosters a nurturing and stimulating environment, where high expectations for pupil achievement, particularly for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are evident. Pupils express pride in their school and benefit from an ambitious curriculum that engages them in their learning, promoting both academic success and personal growth. While the school has notable strengths, such as effective reading instruction and supportive teacher-student relationships, it faces challenges with its recently introduced curriculum. Some pupils have not had enough opportunities to reinforce their learning, which impacts their ability to make connections across subjects. Additionally, in a few subjects, there are instances where teaching activities do not fully meet the intended learning objectives, indicating a need for further development in certain areas.
