The Bishop David Brown School continues to perform well, maintaining its status as a good school since its last inspection in January 2019. The supportive and inclusive environment encourages pride among pupils, with strong relationships among staff and students. Key strengths include a well-structured curriculum that supports the varied needs of pupils, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). This is complemented by a commitment to literacy and numeracy development, along with a breadth of extracurricular opportunities that enrich the student experience. Despite these strengths, there are areas for continued improvement, particularly regarding the consistency of teaching expertise across all subject areas. Some recent developments in the curriculum and instructional strategies have yet to be fully embedded, resulting in variability in how well pupils learn across different subjects. The school is focused on strengthening these aspects to ensure every student can reach their full potential and feels adequately supported in their learning journey.
