• Inclusion is well led, with quick identification of SEND and effective strategies in the SEN unit.
• Stable leadership from school and trust, with trustees providing effective support and challenge.
• A well-designed personal development programme with wide experiences, clubs and leadership roles.
• Effective pastoral support helps pupils build confidence and manage behaviour.
• Safeguarding standards are met, with an open culture of safeguarding.

Areas for Improvement

• Achievement across the school is inconsistent and some pupils, including disadvantaged pupils, have not achieved as well as they should.
• Curriculum implementation and teaching quality are inconsistent, particularly in writing and mathematics.
• Staff do not consistently check pupils' understanding or correct misconceptions quickly and precisely.
• A small number of pupils with SEND in mainstream classes do not make the progress they are capable of.
• Some pupils have gaps in knowledge that are not closing quickly enough.
• Targets for some pupils with SEND are not precise or updated quickly enough, so support does not always adapt to changing needs.
• Absence and persistent absence remain above national averages, although leaders have improved attendance.
• Leaders' actions to improve teaching and curriculum are at an early stage and not yet embedded or sustained.
