Wetherby Pembridge is a new independent school that opened in September 2025 and this was its first standard inspection. The school has made remarkable progress in a short time, with high achievement across subjects, a very broad and ambitious curriculum, and a committed, well-supported teaching team. Pupils, including those with SEND, are articulate and confident learners who make solid progress; the school's culture and values are clearly established, and personal development and wellbeing are prioritised effectively. Safeguarding standards are met, and the school is well placed to expand to a larger age range and roll, a judgement confirmed by inspectors. Key strengths include outstanding oracy, a strong and broad curriculum, effective support for pupils with additional needs, and a positive, purposeful school environment. The school's commitment to inclusion is clear, though leaders' monitoring of the impact of SEND adaptations and interventions is not always timely, which can delay addressing less effective support. Attendance is close to national average but not yet above it, and some aspects of the school's work are still relatively new and continuing to embed. Overall, this is a strong-performing school that is fulfilling the expected standard and, in several areas, working above it. The two next steps focus on refining progress checks for pupils with SEND and improving attendance further.
