Grays, in Essex, England, is an expanding waterfront destination that combines shopping opportunities at Lakeside Shopping Centre, excellent transportation (near the M25 and with train links to London Fenchurch Street), and proximity to the River Thames. The town boasts a convenient location about 32 kilometers east of central London. Grays has been experiencing a regeneration with the recent investment of nearly £20 million, aiming to enhance its riverfront setting. Although the town has been historically criticized for some issues, it excels in safety, with a crime rate lower than that of the East of England region. The town enjoys good road links and its own economy, largely thanks to Port of London industries and the wealth of services provided. The population has grown to 44,341 as of 2021.
