The May 2026 inspection judged the school to be working at the expected standard across all evaluated areas, with safeguarding standards met and all independent school standards met. Leaders have successfully addressed the improvements identified at the previous standard inspection in 2023. Pupils typically achieve well from their individual starting points, including in reading, writing and mathematics, and many gain GCSEs, BTEC qualifications or move on to further education. The school is effective in helping pupils who have missed education or had low attendance to re-engage, and its curriculum, inclusion, pastoral support, personal development and leadership are generally strong. Staff understand pupils' complex emotional and SEND needs, classrooms are typically purposeful, and pupils feel safe and are not worried about bullying. The main areas for development are writing and progress monitoring. A small number of pupils do not acquire some writing knowledge or skills as quickly as they could, and gaps in writing are not always identified or addressed promptly. Leaders should also monitor progress more rigorously, using well-analysed quantitative and qualitative data to address barriers swiftly, and help pupils consistently show high levels of self-discipline and dedication to learning. There is some variability in pupils' depth of knowledge of fundamental British values and cultures, although leaders' work in this area is beginning to have an impact.
