This was a material change inspection commissioned by the Department for Education, not a standard graded Ofsted inspection. Hestia School, an other independent special school for pupils aged 12 to 19, applied to increase its maximum number of pupils from 60 to 90. Inspectors concluded that the school is likely to meet the relevant independent school standards if the change is implemented. The inspection focused on leadership and management, welfare and safety, suitability of staff and proprietors, and premises. The report is positive across all checked areas. The premises are spacious and well maintained, with sufficient toilets, washing facilities, changing and shower provision, a suitable medical room, appropriate lighting and acoustics, and ample outdoor space. The report identifies no areas of concern, and the standards checked are likely to continue to be met if the material change is approved.
