Ashcroft Technology Academy is performing at an exceptionally high level across almost all areas. Inspectors found achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, leadership and governance, and post-16 provision to be exceptional. Pupils achieve very highly across a broad curriculum, disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND make excellent progress, attendance is among the best nationally, and behaviour is calm and respectful. Safeguarding standards are met. The school is a single academy within Prospect Education (Technology) Trust and has a specially resourced provision for pupils with autism. Inclusion and personal development and well-being are graded strong standard, with effective support for disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND, strong pastoral care, and a wide enrichment and careers programme. Leaders are ambitious and there is no sign of complacency. No significant weaknesses were identified. The next steps ask leaders and governors to sustain the effectiveness of their work in all areas and continue improving outcomes for all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND, and pupils known to children’s social care or facing other barriers.
