The Wisdom Academy

The Wisdom Academy has made purposeful strides since its September 2025 inspection, when it was judged to require improvement. Leaders have redesigned the curriculum, improved teaching consistency, strengthened assessment, and maintained effective safeguarding. These changes mean the school now meets the independent school standards for quality of education, welfare, health and safety, recruitment checks, and provision of information. However, the leadership and management standard remains unmet because the improvements, while promising, have not been in place long enough to demonstrate that the proprietor can sustain them consistently over time.

Strengths

• Curriculum redesigned so that learning is clearly sequenced and builds knowledge step by step
• Teaching is now consistent, purposeful and based on clear routines
• Assessment is used effectively to identify gaps and adapt teaching
• Safeguarding remains effective, with strong systems and a culture of safety
• Recruitment checks are thorough and records are complete
• Required information is published and available to parents
• Staff describe a more open and supportive working culture

Areas for Improvement

• Leadership and management standard not met because improvements are not yet embedded or sustained consistently over time
• Previous action plan was found unacceptable due to unclear or insufficiently measurable actions
• Some foundation subjects still need further development to match the strength of core areas
