Description
betaWigston College is an academy sixth form located within Wigston Magna, Leicestershire, UK, at the address LE18 2DS. Established in 1954 as Guthlaxton Grammar School, it transformed to Guthlaxton College after the introduction of comprehensive education in Leicestershire. In September 2015, it rebranded as Wigston College to reflect the merged identity of neighboring Bushloe High School and Abington Academy, now part of The Wigston Academies Trust.
The college primarily caters to students aged 16 to 18, offering a variety of A Levels and BTEC programs, particularly in the fields of performing arts, for which it has dedicated facilities. The school is headed by current Principal Mike Wilson and Executive Headteacher Mark Mitchely.
Wigston College's campus colors are yellow and purple, while the academic institutions of Glenne, Herrick, Wistan, and De Monfort serve as the houseling culmination of the college and its vision.
