Marriott Primary School is judged to be meeting the expected standard across achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. Safeguarding standards are met. Inspectors found a caring, inclusive school with strong leadership, effective support for vulnerable pupils and families, and an ambitious curriculum adapted for pupils with complex needs. Pupils typically make progress from their starting points and gaps in reading and mathematics are closed swiftly, although published outcomes do not consistently reflect this because many pupils face complex barriers and some join or leave at different points. Notable strengths include leaders' detailed understanding of the community, effective governance, strong pastoral and inclusion work, and a wide personal development offer. Attendance and behaviour have improved over time, and pupils are generally polite, happy and well supported. The report also identifies areas to develop: recent curriculum changes in a small number of subjects need further embedding so knowledge gaps close faster; attendance and persistent absence remain above national averages; and some early years children are not always purposefully engaged, limiting high-quality interactions. A small number of key stage 2 pupils do not always show positive attitudes to learning, and pupils' knowledge in some personal development areas is not as detailed as it could be.
