Christ Church (Erith) CofE Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive school where pupils achieve well and feel proud of their school. Inspectors found the quality of education and early years provision to be outstanding, with a highly ambitious curriculum, a strong emphasis on language and vocabulary, expert teaching, and rapid progress in reading. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified quickly and supported precisely, and children in Reception get a very strong start. Behaviour is typically calm and purposeful, personal development is strong, and leaders, governors and trustees share high ambition and support staff well. Safeguarding is effective. The main area for improvement is behaviour and bullying. Although the school has high expectations and provides training, approaches to behaviour are not applied consistently, and some pupils do not behave as well as they should. Some bullying or behaviour concerns are not always resolved effectively. The school is part of Trinitas Academy Trust and has had a significant change in leadership; this was its first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was previously exempt from routine inspection.
