Green Ridge Primary Academy is a happy, inclusive school where pupils thrive. Following a significant change in leadership – a new headteacher was appointed in January 2025 – and a large increase in pupil numbers, the school has maintained high standards across most areas. Inspectors graded attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing as strong standard. Pupils behave well, attend regularly, feel safe, and benefit from a broad, ambitious curriculum with high-quality teaching. Early years provision is particularly strong, with children achieving above-average levels of development. Leadership is highly effective, with robust governance and trust support. However, achievement is graded expected standard. While pupils generally achieve well and statutory outcomes are broadly in line with national averages, some pupils – particularly those who are disadvantaged – do not achieve as well as they could, especially in reading and writing. The disadvantaged gap remains a concern. Leaders have robust plans to improve attendance for disadvantaged pupils and to embed the highest standards of teaching so all pupils achieve consistently well in English and mathematics. Safeguarding standards are met.
