St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School continues to demonstrate solid performance, retaining its good status from its previous inspection in November 2018. The school fosters a happy and engaging environment where pupils feel supported and valued. Behaviour is exemplary, with pupils taking pride in their learning and rising to the high expectations set by their teachers. The curriculum is well-designed and ambitious, building effectively on prior knowledge and aiding all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to flourish academically and socially. However, there are areas for improvement, as some teaching strategies for helping students retain knowledge over the long term need to be more effective. Additionally, there are occasional lapses in ensuring that all pupils fully comprehend new material before moving on, which can lead to misconceptions that inhibit their learning. Despite these challenges, the school shows a commitment to enhancing its educational practices to better serve its students.
