JFS

JFS is a large, high-performing secondary school with a sixth form and a Jewish religious character. Inspectors found that pupils achieve exceptionally well, with very high published outcomes at GCSE and A level and strong progress from their starting points. Disadvantaged pupils also make better-than-national progress and attain significantly above national averages. Curriculum and teaching, leadership and governance, personal development, and post-16 provision are all exceptionally strong, and pupils are extremely well prepared for their next steps. Safeguarding standards are met. Attendance and behaviour and inclusion are strong rather than exceptional. Pupils attend regularly, behave calmly and respectfully, and learning time is maximised. Inclusion is well led, with robust support for pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils, effective use of additional funding, and close work with families and external professionals. The next steps focus on refining systems for inclusion and attendance so that the school can sustain exceptional standards for all groups, particularly disadvantaged pupils.
