Madaniyah Foundation is a small independent school with a Muslim religious ethos. It is registered for pupils aged 3 to 11, but at the time of inspection it was educating only 39 children aged 3 to 5; no pupils aged 6 to 11 were on roll. The school meets the expected standard overall, safeguarding standards are met, and all independent school standards are met. Children are happy, feel safe and are well prepared for their next stage of education. The school's main strengths lie in its early years provision. Children make sustained progress across the seven areas of the early years foundation stage, with particular strength in communication and language, phonics, reading and writing development. Behaviour is managed consistently through warm relationships, attendance is promoted well, and the inclusive ethos ensures children with vulnerabilities or SEND receive thoughtful, bespoke support. Leadership and governance are committed and reflective, staff feel valued and well trained, and parents are highly positive about the provision. Enrichment activities and personal development prepare children well for life in modern Britain. Leaders have correctly identified priorities for further improvement. Some planned activities lack clarity about the intended learning, and assessment is not always systematic enough to pinpoint and target gaps, including in writing. At times, children are asked to write before they have secured the physical skills needed, and opportunities to build resilience and independence are sometimes missed, leading to over-reliance on staff. Overall, however, leaders show the capacity to make these improvements and continue strengthening the school.
