Gosforth Junior High Academy is performing well overall, achieving a 'Good' rating in all inspected areas including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. There is a strong emphasis on high expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), resulting in positive academic outcomes. The school fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe and valued, contributing to their personal and academic growth. However, the school faces challenges with consistency in assessment practices and the attendance of some vulnerable groups, which impacts their learning opportunities. These areas require attention to ensure all pupils can fully benefit from the education provided. This inspection represents the first routine grading after a substantial time without inspection due to national policies and circumstances, following on from an 'Outstanding' judgment 12 years ago.
