Cottingley Primary Academy has consistently maintained its status as a good school, demonstrating a strong commitment to the academic and personal development of its pupils. The school fosters a nurturing environment where respect and kindness are pivotal, allowing students to feel safe and engaged in their learning. The curriculum is ambitious and well-structured, providing a solid foundation for pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to thrive academically and socially. Despite these strengths, there are areas for improvement, particularly in how teachers utilize assessment information during lessons. While there are effective strategies in place for teaching phonics and fostering a love of reading, some misunderstandings among pupils are not being adequately addressed. The school is actively working on improving attendance, with recent initiatives beginning to show positive outcomes.
