Since the last inspection, leaders have driven rapid improvement, supported by the Flying High Trust, which began formal support in September 2025 and which the school joined in February 2026. The headteacher took up post in May 2024. Pupils achieve well: attainment in reading, writing and mathematics by the end of key stage 2 is above national averages, including typically for disadvantaged pupils, and many reach higher standards. Early years children get a strong start, and pupils behave very well in a calm, orderly environment. Strengths include effective phonics and early reading, a broad curriculum with clear teaching structures, strong personal development and pastoral care, and an inclusive culture that supports pupils with SEND and English as an additional language. Attendance has improved recently, with current rates above average, and relationships between staff and pupils are positive. Leaders and the trust have a clear understanding of priorities, and staff value professional development. Despite these strengths, pupils' learning sometimes lacks depth beyond English and mathematics, and work in some subjects is limited in detail or presentation. Pupils with SEND make suitable but more variable progress, and leaders' evaluation of SEND support is not always rigorous enough to fine-tune provision. Attendance strategies still need embedding to sustain recent gains. The next steps focus on refining curriculum design and delivery, strengthening SEND impact analysis, and securing high attendance for all groups.
