Leighton Academy has shown considerable improvement since its last inspection, moving from a previous grade of requires improvement to a current rating of good. Pupils are reported to be happy and safe, with a strong support system in place for any concerns they may have. The leadership team has high expectations for both academic achievement and behavior, and the school offers numerous extracurricular activities to enhance student engagement and development. However, while most pupils achieve well, there are areas in early years and key stage 1 where learning does not systematically build on knowledge over time.
