The Frederick Gent School, located on Mansfield Road (DE55 2ER) in South Normanton, is a co-educational secondary institution within the Bolsover district of Derbyshire. Founded in 1958, this academy replaced two local secondary schools and now features an enrollment of 763 students from ages 11 to 16. Previously administered by Derbyshire County Council, the school converted to academy status in 2017 and is now sponsored by The Two Counties Trust.

The school aligns with national standards, providing a well-ordered, caring, and secure learning environment, and has achieved notable recognition as one of the first Leading Edge Schools. Frederick Gent was also awarded Specialist Mathematics and ICT status in April 2004, and Artsmark Gold for its commitment to fostering creativity within the curriculum.

Frederick Gent has been steadily developing in recent years through a £8.7m rebuilding programme completed in December 2004, and more recently by transforming into a state-of-the-art learning environment. The school's academic performance is impressive, with a record of very good GCSE results. The headteacher is Chris Woollard, and the deputy head is Mike Bradshaw.
