Mackenzie Thorpe Centre is performing well as an independent special school for pupils with autism, showcasing a good quality of education, behaviour, personal development, and leadership. The school builds strong relationships between staff and pupils, fostering a supportive atmosphere where pupils feel valued. Although the majority of pupils achieve well and benefit from a bespoke curriculum tailored to their specific needs, there are areas for improvement in the delivery of the phonics scheme and lesson activities that may not always emphasize the key knowledge intended for pupils to learn. Overall, the school maintains effective practices while reflecting a commitment to continuous development.
