Saint Gabriel’s College continues to demonstrate good performance as a supportive and inclusive secondary school. The school has recently made significant improvements to its curriculum, which now offers a broad range of learning opportunities and is designed to help all pupils develop essential knowledge and skills. Pupils appreciate the caring environment, and the school fosters a strong community spirit. Notably, pastoral care is considered a strength, with staff members well-versed in the needs of individual pupils, which contributes positively to their overall well-being and engagement in school life. While there are many strengths, some areas require further improvement. Teachers' ability to effectively check for understanding and address misconceptions varies, and there are gaps in learning for some pupils that hinder their full comprehension of the curriculum. The school acknowledges these challenges and is actively working towards enhancing its teaching strategies to ensure all pupils can benefit maximally from their educational experiences. This report marks the first ungraded inspection since the school was last deemed good in November 2018.
