George Dixon Primary School is currently facing significant challenges that require urgent improvement. Despite having introduced actions to enhance attendance, rates remain low, particularly with persistent absence affecting too many pupils. Although recent leadership changes show promise in stabilizing the school and setting high expectations, the overall performance across various domains has not yet reached an adequate standard, particularly in academic achievement and curriculum delivery. The school’s efforts to address the needs of pupils, especially those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are in their early stages and have yet to yield the desired outcomes.
