Bidbury Junior School has demonstrated effective action to maintain the standards identified in its previous inspection, which was rated as good. The school prides itself on creating an inclusive environment where pupils feel welcomed and valued. With a curriculum that is ambitious and well-organized, the school supports students’ character development and leadership skills, with various opportunities for pupils to engage actively in school life. However, despite these positive attributes and improvements in teaching and support, pupil outcomes at the end of key stage 2 remain low, particularly in reading, writing, and mathematics. Additionally, attendance issues persist, with disadvantaged pupils being disproportionately affected.
