Addey and Stanhope School, located in Lewisham, London, is a coveted secondary institution with a rich history dating back to 1606 for the Addey School and 1660 for the Stanhope School, merged into one in 1894. This co-educational voluntary-aided school is a former grammar school with approximately 596 students and a staff of approximately 100.

The school cultivates an intimate and inclusive atmosphere, consolidating a non-denominational philosophy while upholding a strong moral ethos, deeply respecting its culturally and religiously diverse student body, with particular ties with the Church of England. It promoted this atmosphere in a newly built facility completed in 2012, providing top-notch dining and library facilities, along with a larger area for sports. The school consists of four houses, named after the founders and notable historical figures, providing opportunities for student leadership and team spirit.

Addey and Stanhope School, now a specialist science and technology institution, has developed an emphasis on computer science, math, and science, receiving extra governmental support for these areas of focus. A notable addition in the past two decades is a design and technology, art, and music building, as well as a new wing containing classrooms for French, mathematics, a large gym, changing rooms, and ICT rooms.

The school's motto, "A Deo et Rege" ("From God and the King"), along with its dedication to educating the community's youth, has led to praise from local and national government officials. In 2011, the Member of Parliament for the local constituency, Joan Ruddock, celebrated the school's commitment to raising standards in education, particularly in the technology sector.

Throughout the school's history, various milestones have taken place. In 1906, the completion of the building designed by Edmund M preparations for the nation's future leaders in a variety of fields, including those who perished tragically, such as two students during the London Blitz.
