betaSt Matthew Academy is a mixed all-through school located in Blackheath, London, at the address St Joseph's Vale, SE3 0XX. The academy caters to students aged 4 to 16, and it is co-educational, affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Established in 2007, the school replaced two previous schools and is directly funded by the Department for Education, as well as receiving additional support from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark and the De La Salle Congregation.
The school campus encompasses 10 acres and has three houses: Mandela, Romero, and Teresa, which are color-coded in blue and gold. The primary phase has approximately 2 classes per year group from Reception to Year 6, and students learn primarily through the International Primary Curriculum.
