Cramlington Learning Village is a large secondary school with a sixth form, part of the Cramlington Learning Village trust. - Pupils are safe, happy and behave very well, demonstrating confidence, resilience and kindness.
- Attendance is high, and persistent absence has reduced rapidly, including for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND.
- The curriculum is well ordered and adapted to meet the needs of all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged, have SEND, or speak English as an additional language.
- Teaching is consistently high quality, with teachers accurately identifying and addressing gaps in pupils' learning.
- Inclusion is a clear strength; leaders quickly identify individual needs and provide effective, tailored support so that all pupils can thrive.
- Leadership and governance are strong, with a clear shared vision, precise improvement priorities, and effective strategic oversight by trustees and governors.
- The personal development programme is highly effective, helping pupils stay safe, healthy and respectful, and offering a wide range of opportunities to develop talents and interests.
- Pupils, including those in the sixth form, are well prepared for their next steps and progress into meaningful education, employment or training.
Areas for Improvement
- Pupils' achievement in national tests and examinations remains close to national averages rather than above average, and the impact of recent improvement work is not yet fully evident.
- Disadvantaged pupils' outcomes lag behind national averages and the disadvantage gap remains wide, particularly in English and maths GCSE and Progress 8.
