The Oxford Academy has recently undergone significant changes aimed at improving overall performance. While the school is part of the River Learning Trust and benefits from its support, there are several areas of concern, particularly regarding the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, and personal development, all of which require improvement. Despite this, leadership and management, as well as the sixth-form provision, are evaluated as good, indicating that there are effective strategies currently being implemented to foster positive change. Students generally feel safe and appreciated for the care provided by staff. However, the school recognizes that pupils do not consistently achieve to their potential, and behaviors related to responsibility and peer interactions are still developing. The new curriculum is in place, but its execution in lower key stages needs enhancement. Efforts are underway to address low participation in extracurricular activities, while the sixth form shows promise as a supportive environment for student leadership and community involvement.
