St Peter’s Catholic School is performing exceptionally well. Inspectors found an inclusive, caring and high-expectation culture underpinned by the school’s five virtues, with pupils demonstrating an impressive thirst for knowledge and exceptionally positive attitudes to learning. The curriculum is highly ambitious and carefully reviewed, teachers are subject specialists, and pupils with SEND are identified quickly and supported well, while reading is prioritised and bespoke support helps weaker readers make rapid gains. Behaviour is excellent, personal development is exceptional, and careers education is highly organised with meaningful encounters with the world of work. Sixth-form students are strong role models and benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Leadership is a significant strength: trustees, directors and local governors know the school well and provide effective support and challenge, while staff report a harmonious, family-like culture in which leaders care about their workload and well-being. Safeguarding arrangements are effective. This was the school’s first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic, and it remains part of Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company. No areas of concern were identified in the report.
