City of London Academy, Shoreditch Park is an outstanding school across all inspected areas: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision. This was its first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has moved from a previous Good grade to Outstanding. The school is part of City of London Academies Trust, has expanded to Years 7 to 13, and has moved to a new permanent building. Pupils with SEND are identified quickly and supported exceptionally well through the core curriculum, and reading is prioritised effectively. The sixth form is highly successful, with students producing sophisticated work and progressing to prestigious universities and ambitious pathways. Personal development is a major strength, with a wide range of enrichment, leadership and diversity opportunities, including strong careers guidance and charitable and work-experience activities in the sixth form. Governance is strong, safeguarding is effective, and leaders use data-driven evaluation to keep improving. The report identifies no significant weaknesses.
