East Hall School has performed commendably since welcoming its first pupils just over a year ago, achieving a Good overall effectiveness rating. The school excels in fostering positive relationships between staff and students, which helps pupils recover from negative past experiences in education and actively engage in learning. Notably, the school's approach to addressing pupils' social, emotional, and mental health needs is exemplary, leading to outstanding behaviour and attitudes among the pupils. The quality of education provided is generally good, featuring a broad and ambitious curriculum that effectively prepares students for their future education and training paths. Despite the school's strengths, some curriculum pathways are still developing and have yet to be fully embedded across all subjects. This has led to some pupils not gaining enough depth in their knowledge of certain areas. Additionally, there are concerns regarding the lack of emphasis on vital writing skills, such as spelling and punctuation, which hinder pupils' communication capabilities. Nonetheless, the school has established a supportive environment where all pupils, especially those with special educational needs, thrive and make significant progress.
